Ingredients:
Idli batter – 1 cup
Raagi powder – ½ cup
One medium onion finely chopped
Two green chili finely chopped
Chana dal – ½ tsp
Urad dal – ½ tsp
Mustard seeds – ¼ tsp
Finely chopped curry leaves – 3-4
Salt – ¼ tsp
Cooking soda - pinch
Oil – 3 tsp
Preparation:
- Heat two tbsp oil in a kadai and add mustard. Once they start spluttering add chana dal, urad dal and saute for a min.
- Now add onions, green chili, curry leaves and saute till onions turns light brown in color.
- Now add raagi powder and saute for 2 minutes. Add this to idli batter and mix well.
- Add salt and cooking soda with little water and mix well.
- Oil the idli steamer plates and spoon the batter.
- Steam the batter for 15 min on medium flame.
- Now raagi idli is ready. Serve them with palli chutney.
